Life! The Novel

what is going on in the world of Humanities that relates to your ideas for Life: The Book?

Please answer the following questions—you can do this in any format that works best for you:

1. Post the stage of life that you will write about and a relevant element of genetic technology that interests you. Feel free to work with Brandon to understand this step.
The stage of life I will write about is adulthood, and the relevant element of genetic technology that interest me is Down Syndrome, and how that gene is passed on to children through birth.

2. Describe at least one relevant government agency that works in this area. Describe the current news related to your topic & this government agency and embed a minimum of one news story (print, tv, audio, etc.) in your description.
NDSS is one government agency  found that works in helping children with down syndrome. The recent news on this topic is:
"In March 2009 The National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) announced a new mission and vision to support its commitment to being the national advocate for people with Down syndrome.  The new strategic direction focused the organization on four key areas of programming: the NDSS National Policy Center, the Buddy Walk®, public awareness and community support programs.

One important change was the Buddy Walk license agreement.  Because the Buddy Walk® and public policy are so closely linked through grassroots level advocacy and involvement of families, NDSS announced that the Buddy Walk® funds collected through licensing fees would go directly to the NDSS Policy Center.  These funds were to support the Down syndrome community's legislative agenda and the growth of stronger presence in Washington, D.C.
Now, just about a year and a half later, NDSS is pleased to report many exciting developments at the NDSS National Policy Center, thanks to the generous contributions from local Buddy Walks across the country.   Click here   to learn more about how the NDSS National Policy Center is funded and about the improvements the center has enjoyed in the last year."

3. Describe at least one relevant historical, cultural, economic, geographical, or literary example or concept that relates to your ideas for your article. Include at least two relevant links to evidence and further research in your writing. Strive for detail & evidence in your connections.

This is one piece of evidence that will help me support what I will be talking about in my article because I will be focusing more on the genetic material regarding what causes mental reatrdation to be passed from parents to the offspring.

4. Please repeat all of the above steps... This time, focus on a different aspect of genetic technology and/or different humanities content.
